The images of Doctor Jones with his special whip and cowboy hat and his desire to find the invaluable treasures and to fight back to the evil forces are never be forgotten. It has been a dream of many children for many years to be like him and I am not an exception. This movie has many exciting action scenes and challenging quizzes which make viewers curious. In addition, with the participating of Sean Connery as Henry Jones - Indiana Jones's father, it blows a fresh air by adding many funny quotes or acts interchange action scenes to the film. Therefore, it makes the movie more entertaining and balance. The imagination of Steven Spielberg is unbelievable. He creates numerous awesome action scenes which make a dramatic impression on me. This movie is really a wise choice for family and helps you to release stress. I give Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade 8 out of 10 scores.
When Harrison Ford was about 20, he has a car accident which gave him a cut on his chin in Northern California. In the movie, the first scene explained that young Indiana Jones cut his chin by a whip.
In the Berlin book burning scene, most of the Nazis uniforms are authentic which are not costumes. A bunch of old uniforms was discovered in Germany and collected by Anthony Powell - costume designer- to be ultilized in the movie.
When Steven Spielberg met with George Lucas to talk about the third part of Indiana Jones series, George Lucas wanted to make it set in a haunted mansion. However, Steven Spielberg had just made Poltergeist (1982) and decided to do something distinct. George Lucas then had an idea of the Holy Grail and Steven Spielberg add the idea of father and son story.
The first choice to play Henry Jones - Indiana Jones's father- of Steven Spielberg is always Sean Connery due to the joke that the father of Indiana Jones is James Bond. If Sean Connery denied, John Pertwee and Gregory Peck were back-up choices for the role. Steven Spielberg had always desired to make James Bond film so to sticking with James Bond theme, the movie has many Bond movie co-stars: Alison Doody, Lipinski, Julian Glover, Vernon Dobtcheff and Stefan Kalipha.
